PURPOSE:To provide the titled lubricating oil which does not increase staining even when used together with a rolling mill oil for mill clean sheet, by adding a fatty acid ester of 3-methylpentane-1,3,5-triol to natural fats and oils. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil contains natural fats and oils such as beef tallow or palm oil as a base oil and a fatty acid ester of 3-methylpentane-1,3,5- triol as an additive. As compared with natural fats and oils, staining due to annealing is lessened when the above ester is used. Thus, when a rolling mill oil contg. this compd. mixed therewith is used together with a rolling mill oil for mill clean sheet, an increase in staining such as carbon staining due to annealing can be inhibited. |
