<p>The file handle has a curved outline with a rectangular base (11), together with a waist (12) and a body (13) of club shape. The body thickens out to form a knob (18) before tapering down to a reduced flat end (14) with rounded corners. The knob has a rounded rectangular shape in cross section and similar cross-sectional profiles apply between the knob and the end. The thickening occurs on all four faces and at the outer quarter point on the longitudinal axis. The waist locates at the inner quarter point. The waist diameters may be some two thirds of the pommel diameters, the surface may have rough areas, and the surface between the base and the waist may have herringbone grooving (17).</p> |
