The household refrigerator has an insulation which is provided between wall parts and comprises polyurethane and separate insulating hollow bodies embedded in the polyurethane insulation. This reduces the proportion of relatively expensive insulating plastic in the insulation, so that the insulation and consequently the household refrigerator as a whole can be produced inexpensively. By virtue of its intrinsic rigidity, the polyurethane content of the insulation also contributes to the stability and strength of the household refrigerator walls.
