PURPOSE:To regulate the fuel injection time by small driving forces according to loads on engine by regulating the length of an elevating part to push up a plunger when no fuel is injected in a Diesel engine having a fuel injection pump for every cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When regulating the injection time of fuel, the time when no fuel is injected is detected by periodically detecting an optical reflector 32 attached to a crankshaft, and the pulse is put in a motor drive circuit 35. On the other hand, in parallel with the above operation, the revolving number and load of the engine are detected by a detector 36, and the pulse proportionated to regulated amount with a given fuel injection time is put in the motor drive circuit 35 from a fuel injection time controller 37. From the circuit 35, regulated amount pulse is sent out to a pulse motor 38 only when no fuel is injected, a regulating shaft 31 is turned, the length of an expandible elevating part 24 provided between a fuel cam 23 and the plunger 21 of the fuel injection pump 25 is varied, and the fuel injection time is thus adjusted. |
