A pictorial medium, whether it be a framed picture, a plate or even a three-dimensional work with a relatively flat underside, is to be secured by means of the hanging device. This hanging device consists of two longitudinal supports, specifically cords or chains made from flexible wires, ropes, strings or the like which are drawn through a ring (2) and attached, preferably crosswise, to the back of the pictorial medium (4). In this arrangement, the angle of the intersection depends on the size of the pictorial medium or on the arrangement of the attachment points. The longitudinal supports are preferably of equal length and stretched somewhat loosely from one attachment point to the other, so that the ring (2), which can serve as a suspension member and be of any desired design, can move. Attachment eyes (3) are preferably formed or attached at the ends of the longitudinal supports. <IMAGE>
