In a facing head (1), in particular a finishing head, with interchangeable cutting elements (3), e.g. reversible tips, arranged in a basic body (2), and with an adjusting device (8) for the radial fine adjustment and an adjusting device (9) for the axial fine adjustment of the cutting-tip support (5), the cutting element (3) is to be precisely adjustable in a simple manner in a small area in order to increase the surface quality and to substantially prolong the life of the cutting element (3). This is achieved by the cutting-tip support (5) having a pivotably mounted cutting-tip holder (30 or 35) as well as adjusting means (31 to 34) for rotating the cutting-tip holder (30 or 35) about an axis running parallel to the secondary cutting edge (28) of the cutting element (3). The cutting-tip holder (30) can be designed as a plate roughly like a quarter-circle sector and can have at the periphery at least one countersunk step (38 or 39) for the engagement of an adjusting means (31 or 32). Headless set screws (31 or 32) can be provided as adjusting means. In a modification of the invention, the cutting-tip holder (35) is designed as a pivotably mounted plate (36) designed roughly like a circular sector and having an adjusting arm (37), and for the adjustment a headless set screw (34) supported against a wall (41) of a bearing pocket (42) accommodating the adjusting means (37, 34) is arranged in the adjusting arm (37). <IMAGE>
