The strip is pref. used to stiffen aerials or tape measures, and is of steel or some flexible material. Along the whole or parts of its length, it has at least one wave-form lengthways raised section on one side, with a corresp. recessed part on the opposite side. The wave formation runs along the strip forming raised sections in three dimensions, with waved side surfaces going together in a corresp. height level along the strip. The lowest level, the wave trough, lies above the strip's base surface or normal plane, and the side surfaces connect to the base surface in a tangent line along the strip. The tangent line's extent across the strip is less than have the width of the strip. (Provisional Basic advised week K25) |
