<p>Copolymer comprises the free radical polymsn. prod. of a monomer of formula (I) (R1-R3 are H, opt. substd. alkyl or opt. substd. aryl) with a vinyl monomer from maleic anhydride, and (substd.) maleimide. The succinimide gp. in (I) is not directly attached to the polymer backbone and is therefore more reactive. The hardened polymers are also more flexible. The polymers are used as condensation agents for expoxy resins descaling agents for boilers, as detergents, additives for coating and adhesives, ion-exchange resins and as water soluble polymers.</p> |
