PURPOSE:To obtain uniform high density pattern, by preventing the spread of heat laterally and reducing the deformation of a recording pattern, through the provision of a thermally good conductor film under a vertical thermal magnetic recording film. CONSTITUTION:A thermally good conduction film 13B made of Cu and Ag having better thermal conductivity than that of a magnetic substance film 13C is formed with sputtering, ion plating and vapor-deposition, between a base 13A made of glass or ceramic, and the vertical thermal magnetic recording film 13C made of heavy rare earth-transition metallic alloy sucg as Mn-Bi, Tb-Fe, Gd-Fe, Gd-Co and Dy-Fe. Thus, the spread of lateral direction of a thermal spot on the film 13C when a laser beam is irradiated on the film 13C, can be prevented, the deformation of recording pattern is made less, and uniform high density pattern can be obtained. |
