PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer type electrostatic recording material which has a high wear resistance and is superior in durability, by forming a dielectric layer having a specific film thickness, which consists of a ceramic material having a specific value or more of the electric resistance and has a rugged surface having a specific difference of altitude, on a conductive stiff supporting material. CONSTITUTION:A conductive supporting material 11 is constituted of a stiff material such as Al or stainless steel and has the surface made rugged by the sand blasting method, the photoetching method, or the like, or a conductive layer 14 is provided on a rugged base material 13 consisting of plastic or the like to form a conductive supporting material 11'. After the surface of the supporting material 11 or 11' is cleaned with alcohol or the like, a high-hardness and high- dielectric constant ceramic such as ThO2, Al2O3, SrZrO2, or Si3N4 having >= 10<4>OMEGA volume resistivity is vacuum-deposited with a thickness of 0.1-100mu to form a dielectric layer 12 having a rugged surface where the difference of altitude is 1-100mu. Thus, an electrostatic recording material is obtained which is difficult to wear even for contacting with a stylus or the like and is superior in durability and does not cause the toner filming. |
