The arrangement (24) is intended for floor-mounting (25) a safe (22,23) originally designed for wall-mounting to facilitate opening the safe door without risk of injury. It comprises a frame which is secured around the floor opening and to the outside of the safe front and is provided with a spring (16;26,27,29) having one end (27) located (28) in the frame whilst the other end (29) is coupled (15) to the safe door. The spring is pref. a torsion spring of which the torsion arm (26) is rotatably carried in a bush which is secured to the frame and parallel to the safe door hinge pivot.
