PURPOSE:To exhibit sufficient wave dissipating function by damping incident wave without disturbing the tidal current by providing a piar of porous panels on both-side slope of a hollow cross clumnar body having a trapezoidal cross section. CONSTITUTION:Incident wave IW heading for a wave dissipating device is direction into the holes 5a of one porous panel 5A, where the force of the incident wave is damped because the upward and downward components of its orbital motion are replaced by the horizontal component. Then the wave reaches the hollow section of a columnar body 4 and then is subjected to further damping action likewise by the other porous panel 5A. The wave thus damped passes through the breakwater device in the form of an over weir wave OW. |
