摘要 1,254,595. Controlling prime movers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Feb.14, 1969 [March 14, 1968], No.8080/69. Heading G3R. A control system for a gas turbine engine Fig.1 (not shown) has a fuel-flow servo 11 controlling the supply of fuel to the engine according to a signal V; a programmed control means 20 supplying a first fuel control signal in response to a plurality of events taking place during start-up of the engine; a plurality of closed loop control means 14, 15, 18 each responsive to a different operating condition of the engine and supplying respective fuel control signals for controlling the respective conditions; and a gating system allowing only that fuel control signal which represents the least fuel to be applied to the fuel-flow servo. Fuel is fed to the engine by an injection pump 10 controlled by a piston actuator 26 whose position is retroactively controlled in accordance with the reference signal V. The outputs of several temperature detectors in the turbine exhaust are averaged at 39 and a speed dependant function (13) Fig. I.(not shown) generated at 41. The function is compared to a set reference 43 in amplifier 30, the output of which is connected to a bus-bar 12 by diode 31. A signal whose frequency is proportional to speed is derived from a tachoalternator (17), converted to a voltage proportional to speed at 48 and compared with a set reference 51 in amplifier 33 whose output is connected to bus 12 by diode 34. A feedback potentiometer 53 sets the droop; a switch 47 may be closed to provide for isochronous control. An acceleration signal is derived from the speed signal by differentiation (capacitor 56) and compared with a set reference 59 in amplifier 58 connected to bus 12 by diode 58a. The device 20 provides a function (21) Fig.1 (not shown) representing the fuel demanded by the various stages in starting up the engine; thus operation of switches 66, 67, 68, 69 in response to firing speed being reached by the starter; flame being detected; one minute having elapsed since flame detection; and 95% speed being reached, respectively, cause various voltages to be applied to amplifier 36 and thus to bus-bar 12 by diode 37. The diodes 31, 34, 58a, 37 are arranged so that only the lowest signal is applied to the bus-bar 12. Devices 55, 70 set the minimum and maximum signals on the bus. In the event of failure of any one signal the next highest is always available to take over control. Indicators 72, 73, 74, 75 are provided to indicate which form of control is operative at the time.
