PURPOSE:To simplify sturcture and control by branching laser beams by means of a plurality of optical fibers, transmitting the beams branched near a photosensitive body and controlling an optical shutter on the basis of recording signals. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams 44 from a laser 33 are branched into a plurality of the optical fibers 35 through a laser shaping section 34, projected to ferroelectric ceramics 40 through the polarizers 42 of the optical shutters 36, passed through the ceramics 40 when the ceramics 40 are under an antiferroelectric state, and light-shielded by means of analyzers 43, and the shutters are brought to OFF states. When electric fields are applied to the ceramics 40 and the ceramics are under a ferroelectric state, laser beams 44 are scattered by means of the ceramics 40, the shutters are brought to ON states, and laser beams 44 are transmitted and shielded. The shutters 36 are ON-OFF controlled by means of a switching control section 38 in response to recording signals outputted from a signal generating secition 37, laser beams 44 selectively transmitted are irradiated to the photosensitive layer 24 of the photosensitive body 21 from an irradiating section 45, and an electrostatic latent image is formed. |
