PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively a high-precision and small-loss optical connector, by inserting and fixing the tip of an optical fiber, which is inserted and fixed into a reinforcing pipe, into the center hole of a centering member and molding them as one body in a mold. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber coating material 7 and an optical fiber 8 are inserted in order to a reinforcing pipe 6, where plastic materials or metallic materials are coated on the outside surface of a glass pipe to reinforce it, and a centering member 5 which has a center hole 4 and consists of plastic materials or ceramic materials, and they are fixed with an adhesive such as an epoxy and are set in a mold, and they are molded after pistons 9 and 10 are attached. A bottom face A is polished. Thus, a high-precision and small-loss connector is produced inexpensively. |
