PURPOSE:To identify parameters at high speed by finding the product of adjoining picture elements in the vertical and horizontal directions and dividing the product by the variance obtained by converting the level of a video signal so as to have a zero average to find the coefficient of correlation in the vertical and horizontal directions. CONSTITUTION:An output signal 4 from an ITV camera 1 is sent to a zero- averaging circuit 2 and the zero-averaged video signal is supplied to a correlation coefficient detecting circuit 3. After inputting the zero-averaged video signal 13 to the circuit 3, signals 13 with the same picture element are multiplied each other in a multiplier 11a and integrated by an integrator 5a and a signal R (0, 0) equal to variance sigma<2> is outputted from a terminal C. A multiplier 11b multiplies the signal 13 by a zero-averaged video signal time-delayed by one picture element by a delay circuit 10a. The multiplied result is integrated by an integrator 5b and the product R (1, 0) of the adjoining picture elements in the horizontal direction is obtained. By dividing the signal R(1, 0) by the signal R (0, 0), a horizontal correlation coefficient Ph is outputted from a terminal D, and in the same manner, the vertical correlation coefficient Pv is outputted from a terminal E. |
