PURPOSE:To prepare an aldehyde or ketone compound, selectively, in high yield, by decomposing a hydroperoxide compound in the presence of a basic compound and a carbonyl compound having an electron attractive group adjacent to the carbonyl group. CONSTITUTION:An aldehyde or ketone compound (e.g. 2-cyclohexanene) can be prepared selectively, by decomposing a hydroperoxide compound (e.g. 2-cyclohexenyl hydroperoxide) at 20-120 deg.C in the presence of a carbonyl compound and a basic compound. The carbonyl compound is one having an electron attractive group adjacent to the carbonyl group, e.g. hexafluoroacetone, hexachloroacetone, etc., and its amount is 1.0-0.01mol per 1mol of the raw material. The base is e.g. pyridine, sodium acetate, etc., and its amount is 100-0.01mol per 1mol of the raw material. |
