PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of an electric driver in the axial direction, by interposing a friction clutch between at least one end face of a worm and the opposed part of a rotor shaft to transmit torque from the rotor shaft to the worm. CONSTITUTION:The torque of an electric motor M is transmitted to a worm 13 by friction clutches 14-16 and 17, 18, 20. When overload is caused at the limit of contraction and elongation of a pole 1, the friction clutches slip so that the torque is prevented from being transmitted. Only a worm wheel 24 and a drum are housed in a case 12. Since the drum is bent inward in the radial direction, the axial thickness of the case 12 can be fairly reduced. |
