A table frame having four wooden battens which are connected by means of connection pieces arranged in the corners to form a rectangular frame with open corners for inserting the leg supports, the battens being provided on the inside, at least in the end region, with a multiplicity of parallel grooves, into which mitre end faces of the connection pieces, provided with a corresponding toothing, are glued.
