The subject matter of the invention is a method of manufacturing a belt consisting of at least one elastic cord piece and having a fastener, the desired length of the cord piece being separated from a continuous cord. The method of manufacturing the belt is distinguished by the fact that the required cord piece is firstly sheathed under pressure by an adhesive tape at its cutting points and then separated from the continuous cord centrally in the region of the adhesive tapes, that the end faces of the cutting points of the cord piece are now welded and bonded by means of a suitable adhesive, and that subsequently the ends of the cord piece are either bonded in each case in the connection parts of the fastener or bonded to form a closed cord and this seam point of the cord is attached invisibly in a connection part of the fastener. <IMAGE>
