<p>Drain pipe coupling for accepting lateral inputs includes a transverse semi-rigid baffle below the branch inlet levels. The baffle redistributes drainings from the spigot of the overhead pipe so that the falling liq. is reformed on the inner surfaces of the downpipe, to slow its descent, instead of falling free. The flexibility of the baffle allows the bore to be rodded through if necessary. Pref. the baffle is made of an ethylene-propylene based rubber, and the baffle profile has an upper face which slopes down at about 10 deg. The profile may be fixed to the fitting wall by e.g. a skinless steel screw. Applicable to one, two or three-way brand adaptors.</p> |
