<p>The shovel is mounted on a shaft which has a cavity at one end receiving a lug integral with the lower end of a vertical rod. The rod slides within the bore of the shaft and the lug fits into a recess in part of the shovel. The shovel is pivoted away from its housing, into an open position, by pressing the top end of the rod. A helical spring biases the shovel towards its closed position, in which it abuts against the opening in the cavity.</p> |
