<p>A ceramic object contains one or more channels which are completely or partly sealed at high temps., and which are provided with an inlet and outlet. The partly sealed channels are pref. permeable to atomic- and molecular-hydrogen, but are impermeable to other gases. The partly sealed channels may also be permeable to oxygen. One pref. object consists of a sintered assembly of several mouldings which may be covered with a metal or semiconductor. The assembly is used as a solar energy collector where a heat transfer medium is circulated through the channels in the assembly. The ceramic may consist of a wide range of oxides, borides, nitrides or carbides. Used in solar- or nuclear- boilers or in chemical reactors used at high temp.</p> |
