The mobile ship unloader for bulk material has, as take-up device, two independently operated bucket chain conveyors (1, 2) which operate and dig counter to one another and are pivotable about a common vertical centre axis of the vertical conveyor, said bucket chain conveyors essentially being in the form of a parallelogram and having driving tumblers (5), deflection rollers (6) as well as a supporting framework (8). When the bucket chain conveyors (1, 2) are simultaneously in the left-hand and/or right-hand outer end position with each of their lower deflection rollers (6) swung out or the horizontal lower strand (7) swung out, a maximum projecting working position and working width is provided in the region of the ship's hatch, and when both bucket chains are simultaneously in the central position or vertical position a minimum width is provided in the region of the ship's hatch. The material to be conveyed is transported by the bucket chain conveyors (1, 2), or intermediate transport elements assigned thereto, to a cellular conveyor (10) in the form of a vertical conveyor which comprises a cellular belt (11) and, opposite this, a cover belt (12). <IMAGE>
