The invention relates to a method and a device for measuring the torque and the rotary angle and for analysing the measuring signals during the tightening of a bolt by means of a hand spanner. The object of the invention is to find, in combination with a suitable device, such a procedure which on the one hand permits cost-effective production of hand spanners of this type and on the other hand provides the possibility of reproducibly recording a complete bolting operation. This object is achieved in that the torque acting on the bolt can be logged as a deflection of the lever arm of the spanner and the movement of the combined ratchet and measuring head relative to its fixed base can be logged as a rotary angle in a recording unit, designed as a component of the hand spanner, in such a way that the instantaneous values of the torque and the rotary angle are optically and/or acoustically indicated during the bolting operation and the complete bolting process can be documented.
