PURPOSE:To obtain a time measuring device for games of high practicable value which can measure time accurately and decrease the number of observers considerably by detecting the arrival of runners at the goal optically. CONSTITUTION:This measuring device is constituted of a preamplifier 2 which amplifies and shapes the waveforms of the runner detection signal from an IR detector 1, a time measuring device 3 contg. a crystal oscillator or a self-exciting type oscillator, a storage part 4 which stores the measuring time inputted from the device 3, and a display 5 which displays the measured time in digital quantity, and is capable of detecting the passage of runners through the goal line with the detector 1 optically, storing the time taken since the start till the arrival at the goal automatically in the part 4 and displaying the same on the display 5. Since there is no need for the observer in measuring the time by pushing push buttons, the time is measured accurately, there is no need for observers for the purpose of measuring the time, all required for the observers to do is to read the runners' numbers and a smaller number of the observers are required. |
