PURPOSE:To enable reduction of noise, checking of conditions of measurement, and optimization of analysis by a method wherein polarization potential is subjected to frequency analysis by a frequency analyzing device and a computation controlling device to determine an initial polarization value and a time constant and further to determine a double-layer capacity and a polarization resistance. CONSTITUTION:A supply source 12 of pulse of constant quantity of electricity is connected to a counter electrode 3 and a sample metal piece 1. The potential of the metal piece 1 is detected by using an electrode 2 as a reference, and it is inputted in a potential detector 9 to be subjected to amplification, impedance matching, etc. A frequency analyzing device 10 and a computation controlling device 11 are connected to the detector 9, and the judging of corrosion progress is performed by the device 11 after a noise component is removed from the distribution of the frequencies of polarization potential. |
