PURPOSE:To provide resistance to long-term preservation to commemoratives and to give aesthetic and massive feeling to the commemoratives by subjecting the same to pretreatments then to a shape retaining treatment by plastics thereafter plating metals thereon. CONSTITUTION:An example is given in which felt shoes which are the first shoes worn by an infant in his/her first walking is to be decorated as a commemorative. The broken parts of the shoes 1 are repaired and are dried thoroughly. Auxiliary means contg. stuffings are put into the inpide of the shoes 1 to hold the shoes in a correct shape. Thereafter, plastics for retaining the shape are coated on the outside of the shoes 1 and are penetrated thoroughly into the fibers to form shape retaining layers 2. After the coated shoes are left standing to allow the resin soln. to polymerize and set, the surfaces are polished and a conductive paint layer 3 is provided on the surface. Upon drying of the layer 3, a plating layer 4 of a suitable thickness is provided thereon by an ordinary electroplating method. Clear lacquer or the like is coated on the surface thereof to provide a finish layer 5 and if necessary the shoes are bolted 7 to a base 6, whereby the products are completed. |
