Supercharged engine with charge air cooler

In a supercharged engine an exhaust gas turbocharger, supported in relation to the crank casing of the engine by way of a charger bracket (4), is post-connected to a charge air cooler (17) to which a charging air manifold (16) is connected. In order to make the charge air cooler (17) easier to assemble and maintain, the charger bracket (4) is designed as a gas-tight housing which is subdivided into an inlet chamber (13) connected to the exhaust gas turbocharger and an outlet chamber (15) connected to the charging air manifold (16), which chambers are connected to one another solely by means of a through-aperture (18) in a bearing plate. In addition the charge air cooler (17) can be slid laterally through an insertion aperture (21) like a drawer over the through-aperture (18) and sits tightly on the bearing plate (12). <IMAGE>
