A pump, especially for the pumping of a toxic liquid, has a pump cylinder (10), a pump piston (31) performing a reciprocating movement in the pump cylinder and defining a pump chamber, a drive device acting on the pump piston on the side thereof remote from the pump chamber, a suction valve (19, 20, 22) opening to the pump chamber and a respective delivery valve (24, 25, 27) closing to the pump chamber and a sealing device for preventing the escape of the pressure medium delivered by the pump to the outside. In order to seal off the pump chamber hermetically, a tubular bellows (34) tightly mounted on the pump piston and on the pump cylinder and adjustable in length is provided between that side of the pump piston facing the drive device and that side of the pump cylinder facing the pump chamber. The chamber between the bellows and the pump cylinder is connected to the suction side of the pump. <IMAGE>
