The invention relates to a support material for a photographic silver halide material. The support comprises a base material which has been pretreated on at least one surface by physical surface treatment or by application of an undercoat containing a hydrophobic polymer and at least one electroconductive layer on the pretreated surface which contains a hydrophilic binder in which electroconductive metal oxide particles are dispersed. The support according to the invention helps to eliminate formation of static points and has a surface which ensures good adhesion between the support material and the photosensitive emulsion applied thereto.
