In a contact system for high-voltage switches having compressed-gas blowing, a moving switch contact (2), which interacts with a stationary switch contact (1), is constructed to be hollow and is connected to a piston-cylinder system which sucks extinguishing gas (7) into the interior of the hollow, moving switch contact (2) during the switching-off process. In order to improve the extinguishing properties, a hollow insulating body (8) in the shape of a nozzle is provided, which always surrounds the stationary switch contact (1), also surrounds the moving switch contact (2) in the switched-on position and, on the jacket side, has through-openings (9) for extinguishing gas which flows out of the outer space (10) surrounding the contact system into the hollow moving switch contact (2). <IMAGE>
