In the process, at least one first heat consumer is heated with steam directly from the primary steam source. The condensate is collected in a vessel and recycled via a condensate header line. To enable several heat consumers to be supplied with heat, of which at least one is heated by high-pressure steam directly from the primary steam source and at least one other is heated by a heat carrier of low temperature, the condensate is allowed to flash in the closed receiver, during which it is held under a predetermined steam pressure and at a predetermined temperature. At least one second heat consumer is then supplied from the condensate receiver with hot water and/or steam at lower temperature.
