PURPOSE:To display a contour map, by storing submarine sectional images obtained repeatedly at intervals of a certain time and extracting submarine images succesively to convert them to contour images and displaying successively images, which are converted to contour images, with colors different from one another in respective depth levels. CONSTITUTION:Only submarine images are extracted from picture data, which are stored in a submarine sectional image storing circuit 3, by a submarine image extracting circuit 4, and the depth of the sea bottom is converted to an optional several number of stages of levels by a depth-level converting circuit 5 to obtain contour images, and these images are stored in a contour image storing circuit 6, and respective set levels are converted to color signals different from one another by a coloring circuit 7 and are displayed on a CRT display 8. For the purpose of distinguishing picture data from one another, a shift circuit 10 makes levels of respective picture data different from one another together with the depth-level converting circuit 5 to store them in the contour image storing circuit 6. This operation is repeated, and picture data overflowed from the contour image storing circuit 6 is erased successively by an overflow image erasing circuit 11. This operation is repeated to display a contour map of the submarine topography. |
