A flat slide for flows of substances which cause material wear has two housing halves consisting of dimensionally stable thin-walled sheet-metal parts. Plating parts, having depressions for sealing rings and guide inserts for a shut-off plate which can be displaced are inserted between the housing halves to match the shape. In the region of the flow opening of the flat slide, the two housing halves have inwardly bent annular flanges which extend up to the shut-off plate and to which the plating parts are welded, at a distance from the shut-off plate.
