In order to construct a frame for belt conveying devices, with a conveying means in the form of a resiliently flexible conveyor belt or a slat or plate band chain, and with a drive means secured to the frame and a deflection device, likewise secured to the frame, for said chain or belt, by means of which frame the upper strand, at least when charged with material to be conveyed, is supported from below during the conveying operation, in such a way that, on the one hand, while maintaining virtually the same resistance moment found for known frame designs, towards the bending and/or deformation loadings occurring, it permits not inconsiderable savings in weight, and thus also in material costs, with its correspondingly improved lightweight structure, and a reduction in the storekeeping, transporting and handling expenditure during assembly, and thus in the overall production costs, and, on the other hand, also makes it possible to increase the operating efficiency not only by preventing undesirable contaminations and/or a reduction in the wear of moving parts of the belt conveying device by these contaminations, but also by extending the maintenance interval, in particular as a result of faults in the continuous conveying operation, and is moreover particularly suitable for conveying foodstuffs or animal feedstuffs due to the controlled avoidance of bacteria and/or formation of pathogens, a frame of this type has, according to the invention, at least one profiled part which is made in one piece over the width of the frame and simultaneously over at least the deflecting diameter in the region of the deflecting and/or the driving device of corresponding lateral height.
