<p>An aid consisting of a set of tools to help the patient with disabled fingers put a colostomy bag (1) with elasticised opening on to its collar, and remove it. A jig has upright pins whose tips lie on the circumference of a horizontal circle of diameter a little larger than that of the collar. The mouth of the bag is levered over the pins one at a time. A firm band (8) of almost as big a diameter is slipped between the pin tips and the bag (1) eased on the band (8) which is then removed from the jig. The bag (1) is turned through the band (8) folding over one edge with the elastic (3) remaining in place. The opened bag (1) can be left until needed. Next, the edge of the band (8) covered by the bag (1) is place over the collar and the bag (1) pushed on.</p> |
