PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out boring, by inserting a boring head with a cutting tool into a cylinder to be cut, and as well by relatively rotating the cylinder and the boring head while relatively moving them in the axial direction of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A cutter body 29 is attached to a spindle 27 having a taper part 27a projected from a cylinder 2 to be cut, and a cutting tool 19 is attached to a boring head 9. The cutting tool 19 is moved in the direction of extraction from the cylinder 2 while the cutting tool is rotated relatively to the cylinder 2, for cutting the cylinder 2 under the action of the cutting tool 19. The cutting is carried out without hindrance even if the wall thickness of the cylinder longitudinally varies or even if the cylinder has a bent part. |
