PURPOSE:To select and remove foreign matters before pressing regardless of size of empty cans by providing receiving plates in the lower part of an empty can guide chute, pivoting the outer edge of the receiving plates to allow free movement, and supporting with a balancing weight. CONSTITUTION:When a cylindrical empty can 10 is thrown in from an inlet port 2, the empty can 10 goes down in a guide chute 3 and closes a switch 4. The can goes onto receiving plates 5, 5 by inertia of descent, pushed into a press 12 by a pusher 13, flattened by the press 12, and falls into a basket. When small stones, small bottles etc. 18 are thrown in, they fall into a foreign matter discharge chute 15 from an opening t of the receiving plates 5, 5. If a filled can, juice bottle etc. is thrown in and supported by the receiving plates 5, 5, balance between balancing weights 8, 8 is lost, and the receiving plates lose supporting power and lower around floating axes 6, 6. Heavy foreign matters fall onto a foreign matter discharge chute 15, and separated from empty cans 10. |
