1. Method for splitting up round timber into several timber sections of freely eligible given lengths, the round timber (1) being advanced and positioned in its longitudinal direction and a piece of round timber (1a) being separated by a first saw cut running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the round timber the piece then being transported away in transverse direction, positioned in a longitudinal direction and being subdivided by at least one further saw cut into the round timber sections (1b, 1c or, respectively, 1b, 1d, 1e), characterised by the fact that the further saw cut takes place when the round timber piece (1a) is advanced in a transverse direction, whilst at the same time a further first saw cut is carried out. |
