PURPOSE:To enhance thermal conductivity and contrive to enhance resolution, by a method wherein a specified paper obtained by treating a paper by a supercalender after a paper-making operation is used as a base of a heat-transfer recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A paper treated by a supercalender to have a thickness of 5- 50mu, a density of 0.7-1.4g/cm<3> and a surface smoothness of 100-5,000sec is used as the base for the heat-transfer recording medium which is provided with a hot-melting ink layer. The specified paper can be obtained by passing a paper through 12-16 rolls with a roll pressure of 300-400kg/cm<2> after a paper-making operation. The thickness of the ink layer is preferably about 15mu or smaller. Since the paper is uniform and free from air pores therein, the coated layer of the ink is spread uniformly in a thin form on the paper used as the base. Accordingly, since the paper used as the base 7 is smooth and excellent in adhering property for a heating head 3, the image 11 recorded thereon becomes clear. |
