The invention is based on a copper-refining installation with a refining furnace, an essentially horizontally guided crude-gas duct, gas-cleaning device and clean-gas duct with a connected chimney. The refining furnace is supplied coarse copper, which is obtained with a converter, in a copper preparation. The crude gas drawn off from the refining furnace can be introduced into the chimney via the gas-cleaning device and the clean-gas duct. The gas-cleaning device consists of a sulphur-dioxide washing tower with a large number of washing nozzles for the introduction of a sulphur-dioxide washing agent and with at least one differential-pressure washing device. The washing tower has in its lower part a washing-tower sump with a sludge offtake. Arranged in front of the chimney in the clean-gas duct is an extractor blower, with which the clean gas can be extracted from the washing tower and pushed into the chimney. The refining furnace is made as a low-pressure furnace, in which a low-pressure of 5 to 20, preferably approximately 10 mm water column, can be maintained with the aid of the extractor blower. Also provided is a control circuit which has a pressure-measuring device in the low-pressure furnace and/or in the crude-gas duct. With this control circuit, the extractor blower and/or the annular-gap washing device can be controlled, via a pressure measurement, for external-air-free crude-gas extraction. Because no external extraction takes place, the sulphur dioxide can be effectively removed in the washing tower described. The sludge from the washing-tower sump can be prepared to form copper again. In the simplest case, it is introduced into the refining furnace. Soda lye, for example, is used as sulphur-dioxide washing agent. <IMAGE> |
