CONTROL METHOD FOR FEED SPEED AND POSITIONING OF HEADSTOCK OF CENTERING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to properly program the displacement and feed speed of a headstock by providing a plurality of contact needle on a contact needle lever which controls a guide valve of a hydraulic profiling unit. CONSTITUTION:A contact needle R installed on the contact needle lever 11 of a guide valve 10 makes contact with and follows a signal end 15 driven by a signal drive unit 16 while the profiling operation of a headstock 6 is controlled. When contact needles 13 and 14 are brought into contact with stoppers 18 and 17 respectively, the headstock 6 comes to a halt. In this manner, the tip of a tool 4 reaches a workpiece 22 at the position of X1 while a cutting tool 37 reaches the workpiece at the position X2 and comes to a halt at the position X3 where the tool 37 has advanced by the distance l. The feed speed of the headstock during this operation is programmed so as to take such a process as indicated by broken lines.
