PURPOSE:To provide a recording material excellent in color density and sensitivity, which is composed of an electron-donating dye, an electron-accepting compound and an aryl ester derivative having a melting point of 40-150 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:An aryl ester derivative represented by formulaI or II (wherein R is a 1-20C alkyl group; R1 is a 1-20C alkylene group; and benzene rings A, B may be substituted) and having a melting point of 40-150 deg.C is incorporated into a recording material composed of an electron-donating leuco dye such as a triarylmethane or a diphenylmethane compound and an electron-accepting compound such as a phenolic compound or an organic acid. The aryl ester derivative causes the electron-accepting compound to be easily melted at the time of heating, resulting in easy adjustment of the melting point of the aryl ester. Accordingly, the recording temperature can be chosen arbitrarily. |
