A self defense device with a case (10) camouflaged as article of daily use which surrounds a chamber (34) receiving a gas container (36) which contains a spray medium under pressure and is provided with a movable spray head (38) having an outlet nozzle (40) for the spray medium as well as an actuating appliance (48) for a relative displacement of the spray head (38) towards the gas container (36), with the case (10) being provided with an opening for the spray jet penetrating from the outlet nozzle (40) and with a key for camouflage purposes, characterized in that the case (10) has the form of a box for keys and is provided with a second chamber (58) built to take keys for the key and that the actuating appliance (48) is situated at the case and is accessible from outside, the actuating appliance consisting of a bar (48) arranged inside the case (10) movably and at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the gas container (36), the bar having an inclined actuating ramp (50) for the relative movement of the spray head (38) towards the gas container (36). |
