PURPOSE:To make it possible to machine an acute portion which can not be machined according to the conventional method by installing a light receiving element which detects an acute portion of line as well as a light receiving element which detects a profiling direction, on the variable light receiving surface of a line pattern following up type automatic cutter. CONSTITUTION:On a light receiving surface 4a are provided light receiving elements A and B which detect a profiling diretion, light receiving elements C and D which detect the center position, and light receiving elements E and F which detect an acute portion. When the position of the light receiving surface 4a is under the ondition (a), the drive of a rotary tower 5 is so controlled that the output signals of the elements A and B may be balanced each other. Under the condition (b) the element F detects a turning point of acute angle of a pattern 2 and then a difference between the output signals of the elements E and F is generated, and the supply of a signal is started to rotate the light receiving surface 4a clockwise. Under the condition (c), the elements A and B are deviated from a line 2 while the light receiving surface 4a rotates clockwise at the same time. Under the condition (d), the light receiving surface 4a starts the following up operation of the line 2 again. |
