PURPOSE:To enhance an S/N ratio, a regeneration characteristic and durability, by applying a recording to an optical recording medium wherein a recording layer contains a coloring compound having absorption max. in the vicinity of the wavelength of recording laser beam and a reflective org. compound being a substance having no absorption necessary for recording and high in reflectivity. CONSTITUTION:In an optical recording method performing recording by irradiating a recording layer with laser beam, recording is applied to an optical recording medium having a recording layer containing a coloring compound A having absorption max. at least in the vicinity of the wavelength of recording laser beam and a reflective org. compound B being a substance having no absorption necessary for recording with respect to recording laser beam and having high reflectivity with respect to regeneration beam having the same wavelength as recording laser beam. The reflectivity of the reflective org. compound B to the beam with an absorption max. wavelength of the coloring compound is 10% or more. The beam reflectivity to regeneration laser beam of the recording layer is enhanced without almost lowering beam absorptivity to recording laser beam, and the S/N ratio and storage stability thereof are enhanced. |
