The protection device against explosions in underground works is comprised of one or a plurality of containers containing extinction material which are made of a flexible material tight to the extinction material and complying with the regulations. The containers are optimally adapted in size and shape to the proportions of the underground locals and are arranged on supporting frameworks or in suspended nets, or they hang from cables. The release of the extinction material, for example water, incombustible mineral powder or dust, takes place in the case of an explosion by the destruction of the containers under the direct action of the pressure and/or the heat wave, or by the pressure and/or by radiation detectors which detonate explosive charges and/or by appropriate mechanical devices. |
