Compounds of formula wherein R 2 is C 1-5 alkyl, R 3 is H, tertiary C 4-5 alkyl, C 2-5 alkenyl, tetrahydro-2-pyranyl or benzyl, and R 4 is halogen or C 1-5 alkylthio, are prepared by acylating the corresponding indole ( 1-unsubstituted) with an R 4 -substituted benzoic acid halide, anhydride, azide or nitrophenyl ester, in presence of a tertiary organic base. In specified compounds R 4 is p-Cl or p- MeS, and R 3 is Me 3 C or benzyl.</p> |
