PURPOSE:To ensure the prevention of clogging, in the method for preventing nozzle clogging, by substituting recording ink in an ink jet head with washing liquid, then flowing air, and discharging the washing liquid. CONSTITUTION:In the printing state, the head 1 is separated from a sucking cap 10, a selector valve 4 connects an ink pipe 3 and a pipe 5 to an ink tank 6, and the printing is possible. When the printing is not perofrmed, the sucking cap 10 is closely contacted with a nozzle surface 2 of the head 1. Then the selector valve 4 is switched to connect the ink pipe 3 to a pipe 9 to free air, and a suction pump 12 is operated. The ink in the head 1 is sucked and air is sucked through the pipe 9. Then the selector valve 4 is switched, and the washing liquid is introduced into the head 1 through the ink pipe 3. Then the selector valve is further switched over, and the washing liquid in the head 1 is substituted by air. |
